Joining is easy

Joining ENGIE Home energy is easy, all you'll need to hand is your postcode, about 10-15 minutes of time and, if you have one, a recent energy statement. 

How to join

Like everything else about us, joining ENGIE is really straightforward.

There are two ways to join. You can click the 'Get a Quote' button on the home page, or you can call our friendly team in Newcastle and they'll take care of it for you. You can even start online and call our team to complete the process.

Don't worry if you don't have time to complete the application, if you get called away part way through the process, you can save your progress and come back to it later on.

What happens next?

Once we have your address and payment details, we’ll get straight to work switching you over. The whole process usually takes about three weeks.

As soon as you tell us you want to join, we’ll send you a welcome pack. This has all the important details about the plan you’ve chosen and a projection of what it’s likely to cost. While we're beavering away, you've got two weeks to review your welcome pack and tell us if you change your mind.

We make sure we’ve identified the right meters for your home.

We get in touch with your old supplier and make the arrangements to get your supply switched over – this is really straightforward and there’s no interruption to your gas or electricity supply; it’s really just about when does your old supplier stop charging you and when do we take over.

We'll work that out with your old supplier so you don't have to worry about it. It's not like changing phone or broadband provider. And you’ll never have to pay two suppliers for the same period.

We’ll tell you when everything’s ready and we’ve got a date for the switchover. We’ll ask you for a meter reading a couple of days beforehand. This allows your old supplier to work out your final bill and tells us your starting meter reads with ENGIE.

Once we have your address and payment details, we’ll get straight to work switching you over.  The whole process usually takes about three weeks.

 

Your account

We want to minimise the amount of paperwork we send out; it saves energy and cost and allows us to offer you a better price.

We’ll encourage you to create an online account so that you can see all the useful information about your ENGIE account and, more importantly, how much energy you’re using. You can also view past bills and statements anytime, day or night.

You'll also be able to submit your meter reads online so you don't need to call up.
